The 2017 Viksnins Harris Padys Malen Scholarship was awarded on August 31, 2017 to an incoming graduate student in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology (MICaB) at the University of Minnesota’s Kickoff Luncheon and Poster Session. MICaB Kickoff is a yearly luncheon event in which faculty and graduate students come together to welcome the new graduate students and new faculty members. Immediately following the Kickoff lunch is a Poster Session where graduate students (second year and up) display the research projects they are working on in the laboratory. VHPM awards its scholarship to an exceptional and promising graduate student during the luncheon.
